My peer review abilities have significantly improved over the course of the semester. My peer review of the third paper, my peer review evidence, was most likely the most useful for my peers. As my writing skills have developed, I have become better at seeing the possibility for improvements in the papers of others. I also filled out the rubric checklist for both of the peers in my peer group because I felt that it would be useful for them moving forward into their final draft. I made suggestions such as introducing the conversation surrounding the sources. I also made comments on claim sentences to suggest ways to create more momentum within the paper. I tried to focus solely on the main points of each paragraph and the paper as a whole, which helped me to focus on the global edits of the paper. In my first peer review, I had a hard time focusing on things that could help the overall global aspects of the papers. I focused mostly on claim sentences and theses, which are very important global topics, but I lacked the ability to give advice to create momentum, cohesion, clarity, among other things. Overall, my peer review abilities have developed as my writing skills have developed.
